The Detention Division of the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for the Detention Center that houses an average daily population of about 400 inmates (around 65 females and 319 males). They provide various services to inmates while in custody.5
Inmate Accounts: Each incarcerated individual has their own personal accounts where families and friends may deposit funds for the inmates’ use in purchasing various items at the commissary from McDaniel Supply Company and other services they will utilize while being detained in jail.

Mail: Inmates are allowed to send and receive mail such as letters, photographs, new clippings, drawings, and money orders from Monday through Friday with the exception of holidays.
Incoming mail from family and friends will be scanned for any contrabands (cash and other prohibited items) first before delivering it to the inmates; while legal mail is opened in front of the receiving offenders and will be checked for contraband before giving it to them.
